Infused with grapeseed oil for anti-aging properties as well as advanced UVA/UVB protection technology and blue light protection High Energy Visible (HEV) Light, this sunscreen protects skin from harmful UV & blue rays.
While sunlight is essential for our health, excessive sunlight will damage the skin. Sunlight also contains blue light which penetrates deep into the skin, triggering oxidative stress and premature aging. Excessive blue light influences our circadian rhythm which affects our sleeping pattern.
PA refers to the Protection Grade of UVA rays, which is used to measure the SPF of a sunscreen. This Japanese measurement ranking which is now widely used, based on the Persistent Pigment Darkening (PPD) reaction reading at 2-4 hours of sun exposure. The protective grade of sunscreen is often leveled as PA , PA , PA , PA , hence, the more plus signs there are, the more protection you get from UVA rays. SPF stands for ‘Sun Protection Factor’ and the 50 in SPF 50 refers to the amount of protection the sun screen offers compared to unprotected skin.
SPF 50 sunscreens are formulated to allow less damaging rays to reach your skin’s surface than lower SPF sunscreens. As such, SPF 30 allows 3.3% of UVB rays to reach your skin while SPF 50 only allows 2% of UVB rays to reach your skin. This may not sound like much of a difference, but it all adds up over a lifetime of UV exposure.
